Beauty and the Beast now on sale

Melbourne, the time has come for you to Be Our Guest! Tickets are officially on sale for Disney’s enchanting musical Beauty and the Beast.

The production has garnered praise from esteemed critics and is set to dazzle audiences in Melbourne.

The production, reimagined by members of the original creative team, has received five-star reviews from The Daily Telegraph, Guardian Australia, and Time Out Sydney.

The musical extravaganza, based on the 1991 animated film, has been hailed for its cutting-edge technology, fabulous costumes, and Broadway-style dance numbers, all complemented by the enchanting music of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice, brought to life by a live orchestra.

Thomas Schumacher, President & Producer of Disney Theatrical Productions said they are thrilled to return to Brisbane and Melbourne with Beauty and the Beast, as re-imagined by members of the brilliant original creative team.

“This beloved show – and Belle herself – are somehow as contemporary today as when the film premiered in 1991, even more meaningful to those who first discovered them decades ago and to new generations,” he said.

The original Beauty and the Beast production ran for over 13 years on Broadway, solidifying its place as one of the top 10 longest-running shows in Broadway history and touring to 37 countries worldwide.

The stellar all-Australian cast includes Shubshri Kandiah as Belle, Brendan Xavier as Beast, and Rohan Browne in the role of Lumiere. Other notable cast members include Jackson Head as Gaston, Gareth Jacobs as Cogsworth, Jayde Westaby as Mrs Potts, Nick Cox as Le Fou, Rodney Dobson as Belle’s father Maurice, Hayley Martin as Babette, and Alana Tranter as Madame.

Returning members of the original Broadway creative team, including Olivier Award nominee Matt West as director and choreographer.

The team, which boasts original composer Alan Menken, lyricist Tim Rice, book writer Linda Woolverton, scenic designer Stan Meyer, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, and lighting designer Natasha Katz, collectively received five Tony® nominations and a win for Hould-Ward’s costume design when Beauty and the Beast first graced Broadway 28 years ago.
